Adhoc Party Coming To PSP

Sony has announced that PlayStation Portable owners will soon be able to use their PlayStation 3’s as adhoc networking hubs thanks to the company’s upcoming AdhocParty.

PSP marketing manager Kristin Neirinckx posted the announcement over at the Official PlayStation Blog, saying that the service will allow users to play PSP games that support adhoc mode over the Internet through their PS3s, unlike traditional adhoc connectivity, which requires two systems to be within communicating distance with each other in order to be used.

The new service, which was made available in Japan last year, will be free to download and use, and will support voice chat via headset or PlayStation Eye. No release date has been announced, so stay tuned.
