This week in game releases: November 2-8, 2009
After a number of sci-fi themed releases, RPG powerhouse BioWare makes its return to the world of fantasy with Dragon Age: Origins. The multi-platform game will feature multiple races and classes, each with their own unique origin stories. Of course, as a BioWare game, players will also be able to make moral choices that will affect the game world, though this feature hasn"t been as heavily emphasized as in past games by the developer. It will feature an online social networking feature, and has already spawned novels and a pen and paper RPG, so it looks like this is just the start of a new franchise.
Also hitting store shelves this week: the rhythm genre gets a pop makeover with the release of both LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero; Pro Evolution Soccer returns to the pitch for 2010; Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gets a special edition re-release, featuring some new content; and Need for Speed gets a reboot on Wii and DS with the release of Nitro.
